Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) and Yelagiri Adventure Sports Association (YASA) jointly conducting Paragliding festival at Yelagiri Hills

‘YASA a society formed to bring Adventure Sports to Yelagiri Hills is a year young now. We are happy to state that with the wholehearted support of sports loving fraternity and well wishers, we were able to bring Adventure Sport of PARAGLIDING to Yelagiri, the popular hill station in Tamilnadu which still retains its pristine beauty, verdant landscape, beautiful mountains, breathtaking valleys, lakes, pure and cool climate throughout the year, pollution free abode away from city.

This year the Adventure Sports Festival is slated to be held on September 11, 12, 13, 2009.

In this year’s itinerary, we propose to include Trekking, Biking, Rock climbing, etc., in addition to Para-Gliding. Each sport shall be managed by trained sports professionals under the aegis of YASA.

YASA is being assisted by able sports professionals in nurturing and promoting these adventure sports, alongwith Tamilnadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) playing active role in promoting Yelagiri as a Tourist Destination.

YASA is the only adventure sports association in Yelagiri which strives to honour and fulfill its social commitments to the local population, and maintain the pristine beauty of Yelagiri and also strives to maintain its unique identity.

YASA solicits your continued support and active participation in the Adventure Sports Festival at Yelagiri which is emerging as one of the popular Sports Event of Tamilnadu.

YASA also solicits sports enthusiast to enroll as members of the society and to participate actively to promote Adventure Sports and Tourism in Yelagiri Hills.

Yelagiri Paragliding Festival

Yelagiri Paragliding Club is inaugurating its activities by hosting the first ever international festival on 5th, 6th, 7th of September 2008. The event will see pilots, instructors and their students, the media from India and abroad come together for three days of fun. With flying pilots and sponsors, Yelagiri could not have hoped for a healthier way to “kick start” paragliding on its majestic slopes.

YASA is happy to announce again that a paragliding festival is happening on the 11,12 and 13 september. With the success of last years festival hopefully some more pilots make their way to Yelaigiri and join the flying fun for 3 days. In the month of June 2009 YASA has authorized Temple Pilots a certified school in paragliding training to start paragliding training and tandem flying at Yelagiri. Adventure seeking enthusiasts can enroll and enjoy the flying.
